Continuing pharmacy education (CPE) is not entered manually and is reported in real-time by BPS-approved recertification program providers. Providers are your best resource for timely reporting of activities.
To successfully receive CPE in your MyBPS profile from the provider’s learning management system (LMS), your credential number and BPS ID must be correct. The difference between the two is as follows:
- BPS ID: starts with IND- and all board-certified pharmacists have one BPS ID regardless of the number of specialty certifications held.
- Credential number: different than the BPS ID. BPS assigns a unique credential number to each specialty certification held by a pharmacist. If a board-certified pharmacist holds more than one BPS certification, they will have more than one credential number.
To locate the BPS ID and credential number, log into your MyBPS profile. The BPS ID is found in the upper right corner of the profile section above your cell phone and email address. The credential number is listed in the left corner of the certification information section under “Credential #.”

In certain circumstances, BPS may contact the provider on your behalf if you provide a copy of your transcript outlining the following information: course completion date, title, and units earned. BPS will follow-up when documentation is received and verified.
